March was a somewhat dry month with temperatures above average.

April was characterised by cold nights and sunny days, stemming from easterly winds. Rainfall at 11.5 mm very dry.

May’s unseasonably early heatwave gave us some of the highest temperatures recorded at the heath.

A couple of extreme temperatures, with a high of 36 deg on the 26th. And the very heavy hail which melted to 15.5 mm of water on the 23 rd.

Extreme weather continues during July. Not quite a record low rainfall because just 1 mm fell in both June 1918 and May 2020.
30 deg exceeded on several occasions in July and expect many more in August.

After a series of heatwaves during the hottest UK summer on record, the heath finally received some badly needed rain.
