Some of the volunteers who helped to clear out the old WW2 fire fighting water tank on Sunday, 27th November also unearthed a bottle of champagne (inset). We’ve previously found a full bottle of gin during a clear up and there are probably more hidden caches – what next?
The tank had become a receptacle for rubbish. If you know the Heath, you’ll know it’s near the Judo Club. As you’ll see below we had canine assistance too.
… and this is what came out of it, together with a pile of broken branches and assorted wood offcuts (not shown). It also contains a good deal of leaf mulch, ideal for the garden.
